Hope we are all tweeting away on Twitter. Micro-blogging is cool!

If you can get past the first week or so you'll get the bug. The trick is to start tweeting, ie talking, to people you follow. Some will answer some won't but after a while you start to build up a circle of tweeple you regularly tweet to. The tweeple I'm regularly in contact with range from Australia to the West Coast of the States, although, naturally, quite a number are in the UK or Holland. Climb aboard, it's great fun. Let me know if you do & I'll tweet you. Now there's an offer you can't refuse.

Everybody's doing it! Just found out that the FBI are on Twitter. If I follow the do you think they will be my "friend"?

I would be very, very scared to be friends with the FBI!

Ask them to look up the contraband from Cuba my bio dad was supposedly accused of. I bet it was cigars.

You're not tweeting enough Sherry. The more you tweet, the more followers you'll get, including the Britneys.

You know, when I first heard about "Twittering," I thought it was a fairly silly concept. I have to say, though, that it just might be a pretty good networking tool. There are loads of writers, publishers, and agents on Twitter and, if you have a Web site, once you get some "followers," they WILL check out your site. I'm getting a lot of traffic to mine directly from Twitter. Nobody's "biting" -- yet -- but they're looking, which can never hurt. A Web site and participating in networking sites could turn out to be pretty useful tools for the fledgling writer.

Twitter can be very useful for getting info, sometimes straight from the horse's mouth. I'm in touch with a food writer in Italy & as I'm keen on Italian food in general & the slow food movement in particular, I've found this contact very useful. You can also use it for instant messaging, either publicly or privately by DM, as it is in real time. Interestingly my attention span is now 140 characters in length.

BTW, take a look at Mashable.com. It's a very good social media guide with loads of tips & access to goodies.

May be a daft idea but why don't we, ie WHRN, have a group on Twitter? Everyone else seems to be doing it and it would raise our profile.

It's not daft at all. In fact, I think it's a fine idea. How do you do groups on Twitter, though? If you know how to do it and want to go for it, go for it.

I'm following Derren Brown... don't agree with his opinions on Psychics but he is a brilliant Mentalist!

His explanation of his Lotto prediction was ridiculous. Statistically it made no sense whatsoever.

I've added you... I had to protect my profile as Skank Girl's relatives kept advertising for sex on there...

Don't blame you. After sirwankalot tried to become my friend. LOL I added Neil Gaiman LOL. Yes, the real one they verify the person to make sure they are real. Wish some of the others would do that.
Thanks!

I'm still not convinced twitter is worth the effort unless you're Ashton Kutcher or his elderly wife.

I can assure you it is. made a lot of interesting & useful connection since I started last year. Take a look at 'The Twitter Book' by Tim O'Reilly & Sarah Milstein. pub. O'Reilly, ISBN:9780596802813. It's very good. Lot's of useful tips. Even with over a years experience I learned some new things!

I downloaded tweetdeck and found it much easier to navigate twitter. It lines up your tweets nicely and you can arrange it the way you want to. Now if I can just get Neil Gaiman and Clive Barker to follow me!
