I just got done watching the first season of True Blood, an HBO series. It's available on DVD. Can't wait for the next season to rent.

In True Blood you not only get vampires, you also get shape shifters, serial killers, mind readers, and more sex than you'd ever want to watch. Or maybe not. ::)

Saw the first episode tonight - hope that there is a reason for the gratuitous sex/murder because it seemed to add nothing to the story so far...

Yes we do. I believe it is on HBO but I rented the first season.

The sex is over done and watching Anna Pacquin (or however it's spell) having her way with a vampire is pretty bad. She is rather ugly, but then again so is the vampire guy, Bill. I do think the whole vampire blood as a drug is an interesting twist.
Still, it has some good elements to it. Dexter is better. You understand the murders in that one and why he does what he does.

Watched about half the first episode last night. Didn't see any gratuitous sex & violence. It was all done in the best possible taste!! V~V

Heard 2nd series of True Blood is even better than the first. Got info from someone on Twitter who has got the DVD set of TB 2nd series. "Knowing" said person, (not in the Biblical sense) that means it's going to be naughtier, I hope!!
